dal dhokli Recipe
Ingredients
- Fortune Arhar Dal (1 ½ Cup)
- Water (3 cup)
- Turmeric powder (½ Tsp)
- Salt (To taste)
for dal
- Ghee (2-3 Tbsp)
- Asafoetida (a pinch)
- Mustard seeds (1 tsp)
- Cumin seeds (1 tsp )
- Cinnamon stick (½ inch )
- Clove (4-5 )
- Whole Red Chilli (3-4 )
- Ginger chopped (1 tsp)
- Green chilli chopped (2-3 )
- Curry Leaves (12- 15)
- Peanuts (3 Tbsp)
- Tomatoes chopped ( 2 )
- Red chilli powder ( ½ tsp )
- Garam Masala Powder (½ tsp )
- Turmeric powder (A pinch )
- Kokum soaked ( 1 tsp)
- Jaggery (2 )
- Coriander chopped ( 1 Tbsp)
- Lemon juice (½ nos)
For Tempering
method
- Heat a pressure cooker and add Fortune Arhar Dal, water, salt, and turmeric powder mix well and pressure cook for 6 whistles. Keep aside.
- Meanwhile take a bowl and add Fortune Chakki Fresh Atta , Besan, Carom seeds , Ginger, Green chilli, Red chilli powder, Garam masala powder, Turmeric powder ,Coriander powder, Salt, Coriander chopped, Cumin seeds and using water kneed to a soft dough.
- Cover the dough with moist muslin cloth and keep it to rest for 15 mins.
- After 15 mins take the dough and divide into equal portions.
- Take one portion and dust flour on to it, then using a rolling pin roll into a chappati.
- Heat a tawa and roast the chappati till half done on both the sides.
- Repeat for another portion.
- Remove the half done chappati on to a plate and keep aside.
- For tempering heat ghee in a pan and add Asafoetida, Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Cinnamon, Clove and saute for 1 mins.
- Add whole red chilli, Ginger chopped, Green chilli chopped, Curry Leaves, Peanuts and saute for 2-3 mins.
- Add tomatoes, Salt, Red chilli powder, Garam Masala Powder, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder, mix well and sauté for 3-4 mins.
- Meanwhile open the pressure cooker and whisk the dal well.
- Add the dal to the tempering and mix well.
