Paneer Pakoda

A yummy twist to the regular pakodas: Paneer Pakoda
  • Paneer cubes (11/2 cup)
  • Fortune Oil (for deep-frying)
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) (1/4 tsp)
  • Red chilli powder (1/2 tsp + ½ tsp)
  • Garam masala (1/2 tsp)
  • Dhaniya-jeera powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Dry mango powder (amchur) (1/2 tsp)
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) (1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp)
  • Chaat masala (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (as per the taste)
  • Fortune Besan (1 cup)
  • Asafoetida (hing) (2 pinch)
  • Fortune oil (1 tbsp hot)
  • Coriander chopped (2 tbsp)
  • Baking soda (a pinch)
  • Salt (as per the taste)
  • For the batter, mix besan, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, haldi, hing, hot oil, coriander, soda and salt together. Add in ½ cup of water in and mix well. Keep aside.
  • Now mix ajwain, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, dhaniya-jeera powder, garam masala, amchur powder, remaining haldi, chaat masala and salt together. Gently coat the paneer pieces with this masala and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai, dip each of the coated paneer cubes in the prepared batter and deep-fry on medium heat till golden brown in colour from all sides.
  • Drain the pakodas on an absorbent paper and serve hot with mint chutney.
