This recipe of Hilsa is the traditional and authentic way of making Hilsa. The fish fillets are tightly wrapped up in the banana leaves allowing the flavours to stay in and intensify, making the first bite a heavenly one! 

Paaturi Ilish

  • Hilsa fish (4 pieces)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Jeera powder (1 tsp)
  • Fortune Kachi Ghani Mustard oil (4 tbsp)
  • Banana leaves (4 pieces)
  • Mustard paste (2 tbsp)
  • Turmeric powder (1 tsp)
  • Sugar (1 tbsp)
  • Green chilies (4 pieces)
  • Tread to tie
