- Lime juice (2 large)
- Medium white onion diced (1)
- Fresh coriander, chopped finely (3⁄4 cup)
- Large tomato, diced (1)
- Salt (as per taste)
- Finely chopped fresh jalapeno (optional)
- Avocadoes, large black in colour, slightly soft to press (5 large)
Let’s begin recreating this Mexican delight by first slicing the avocados in half. Don’t forget to discard the seeds and scoop out the shell with a spoon. Place them in a bowl.
Squeeze juice of one fresh lime immediately to prevent browning.
Now using a fork, mash the avocadoes to a desired consistency.
Add chopped onions, tomato and cilantro. Mix the ingredients by stirring gently. Alternatively, to achieve a chunky yet creamy dip, you can also use a food processor to mix all the ingredients.
Time to add in juice of the second lime. After adding salt, stir slightly, until incorporated.
For a tangy flavour, add in the jalapeños as per taste.
Your dip is all ready to be served with your favourite tortilla chips or nachos! You can even use it with your favourite Mexican dish.
